The tank bottoms were rusted through.
Solder removed and coming apart
Decided the best option was to make a new left tank
Left tank sections welded
The left inner tank sides were also badly rusted
note the panel that divides the gas and oil reservoirs

all mounting brackets,bungs, etc. finish soldered
Melting out the lead revealed more previous repaired damage
These baffles were damaged and rattling around loose inside the oil reservoir

the right tank was fairly pitted but it was able to be salvaged with just a new bottom portion

pressure tested and ready to go
The tank bottom had rusted out around the shifter bracket and was held on by a large glob of solder
